Our Mission

We hope to be a lighthouse for the Japanese community- to create spaces for Japanese people to feel a sense of home, or to reconnect those of Japanese heritage to their culture through our events. We strengthen our community by elevating each other, by supporting the community in making new, long-lasting connections and maintaining them into the future.

  • I get to connect to the other Japanese businesses and to feel that we are part of the community.

  • Natsu Matsuri reminded me of visiting my grandparents in Japan.

  • It was great seeing all the little kiddos having so much fun at Natsu Matsuri!

  • I never knew there were so many Japanese people in KS / MO!

  • Yukari brings Japanese culture to the Midwest in a way that is solely focused on uniting the Japanese community together is great.

  • I'm Happa and sometimes feel weird connecting with my japanese side since I grew up in the states, it's nice to be close to a large Japanese community here in KC.

  • Your events gave me sense of belonging, being half-japanese and having a place to share that experience with others means the world to me.

  • Yukari has given KC more representation for Japanese culture AND events to reconnect with my culture.

  • I can feel comfortable in a space surrounded by people who understand and respect Japanese culture, it means a lot.

  • I’m happy that my kids enjoyed the games and loved the atmosphere of Natsu Matsuri. I really appreciate Yukari KC made this happen. It was beyond amazing.
